About our school

Located in the South East of South Australia, our primary school offers high-quality education and excellent facilities to support students achieve their goals.

The original schoolroom opened in 1868 on the corner of South Terrace and McLeod Street. Multiple extensions were completed over the years to accommodate increasing attendance. Bordertown Primary School moved to its current location in 1971. Some of the original buildings remain and are used by community groups.

Advancements to our facilities continue to develop to provide the best possible support for students’ growth and learning.

Our facilities

Natanda Gardens

Our school has a large nature space called the Natanda Gardens, including trees, vegetable plots, fruit trees, chicken yard, and a firepit. This educational resource encourages students to explore and connect with the land. Natanda is the Aboriginal meaning of ‘wood’.

Playgrounds and nature play

We have 2 playgrounds that provide a fun outdoor learning environment. Our nature play area encourages students to engage with the natural environment and explore imaginative play. 

Sport and play areas

We have several play areas including sandpits, tennis courts, quadrangle, shade shelter, gymnasium, and 2 ovals. These diverse facilities ensure students have ample opportunities for play and physical activity.

Library

Our library provides a diverse collection of books, resources, and digital materials to support students’ academic and personal growth.
